Auto rickshaws in Kochi have become a new advertising platform to showcase products and services. This is the the first time that such a novel concept has been introduced in India through auto rickshaws, Manoj G and Abraham Philip Mundukottackal, Ginger Red promoters, claimed at a press meet here.
Displayed in autos through an LCD screen, this new platform is bound to give advertisers an unparalleled reach in terms of a different set of captive audience in showcasing their products and services in the most economical manner, they said
Cost effectiveness, better coverage, beter recall, captive audience and better flexiblity offer advertisers a new innovative platform to showcase their products and services, Manoj said.
The promoters also propose to encourage auto rickshaw and taxi owners to charge passengers only at the government approved meter rates. As an incentive, they would share a part of revenue with the auto taxi owners.
Fifty auto rickshaws have already been activated with the new advertisement platform in Kochi and promoters would be installing the equipment in 500 'auto taxis' by the end of October this year. There are plans to introduce this in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
